This weekend it our duty as Americans to enjoy Memorial Day in remembering and honoring the men and women of the United States military.Thousands have lost their lives since the days of World War I and the present day war in the Middle East. Men and women with brain injuries, physical limitations, lost limbs, and emotional problems – given for us; Fighting for the American people and the people seeking freedom around the world. In the middle of grilling, serving cocktails, spending time with your loved ones and enjoying your weekend, talk to your children about why Memorial Day is honored. Honor those who have faltered, those who continue to struggle with physical and emotional disabilities, the families that have lost their loved ones, the missing, and prisoners of war. Remember also – young Americans of all types will always step forward and defend the United States of America – as they have always done. Sure, the holiday weekend is here, many Vets however, think about why the holiday exists every day and night – for the rest of their lives.
